Suzi Grant, a 68 years old lady whom you might think is not into social media due to her age. Well, think again after you learn that she is an Instagram Diva with more than 11,000 followers. The lady has a fashion blog which she started after her retirement taking an advice from her godchildren.

Capture the moment. Write the caption. Upload the photo. Wait for the likes. This is pretty much what is concerning us now when it comes to social media. Suzi Grant, the former reporter and TV presenter, despite her age, started her blog and Instagram channel in 2013 and she just nailed it.

Suzi is definitely spreading good vibes, she believes that age should not be something in your way, instead, embrace it, love it and be positive about it: The super star stated once: "There’s this outdated notion that, as a woman, when you reach "a certain age" you have to disappear, but as I’ve passed all these dreaded milestones, I’ve embraced ageing. I want to grow old positively, naturally and certainly not invisibly."

"Alternative Ageing"

“Alternative Ageing” is the name of her blog in which she shares her photos as a fashionista from different countries she has been to. She delivers her message through her use of hashtags like “#greyhairdontcare', '#wrinklesaresohotrightnow' and #kissmyage.” The lady offers in her blog beneficial advices about lifestyle for people in her age like natural anti-ageing techniques and diet.

Turning Point

Suffering from the death of her mom at the age of 62 from a heart attack, Suzi took it upon herself, to enlighten people of how they should take care of their health. She, herself, was a heavy smoker and hard drinker but she has the will to stop it all and to train herself to become a nutritionist.

Moving Away

The lady decided to choose a new place that fits her new life style, and she did move: “I’d just turned 50 and was tired of the same staid black uniform people seemed to wear in London – and suddenly I felt irrelevant. Brighton’s liberalism was a complete epiphany for me”

In 2003 she published her first healthy lifestyle book, and then she wrote two more books before she started her blog.

By interviewing the old ladies passing in the streets, she started to collect the materials she will depend on her blog. She did start her blog and was followed by a huge number of followers. Surprisingly, more than half of Suzi’s followers are under 30.

As a wrap, Suzi mentioned: “I just want to spread my message – to embrace ageing, to inspire people to make positive, small changes, not to aspire to some unrealistic portrayal of how you should be. It’s nothing short of a privilege to know I have over 11,000 people wanting to hear my thoughts, and something I’m immensely proud of."

“Instagramming and blogging are my way to stand up, and to inspire others to live their lives to the full, however old you are.”

She added: "We’re like a secret tribe - women over 50 who don’t want to be invisible, who love music, festivals, and take good care of themselves. I can’t believe I’m two years off 70 – I don’t feel it, and I hope I don’t look it."
